Toy Store and Christmas Party!

On December 7th from 5-7 PM Hope in the City will be opening up its doors for local low income families. These will be the recipients of our Toy Drive donations as they will have the opportunity to purchase, at a discounted price, toys for their children. While parents “shop”, the kids will play games, sing carols, and do a craft as a present for their parents.

Please bring any toy donations Sunday the 3rd thru Thursday the 7th. You can drop them off in the office of the church.

We could also use help during the party. We have a couple of volunteer spots for people to bring cookies or a treat, gift wrappers, children activities aids, or just come and be a part of the party.

Please sign up in a role below if you can help.

The first toys have arrived!! We’ve got a long way to go to fill up the Community Room!

Other ways you can give are financially to the toy drive or to the Shepherds Center. We will have a table in the foyer this Sunday if you’d like to give that way

Dave, we are going to bring our two oldest kids and they’d love to help serve with the kids’ activities.

Thanks Cross’!!!

I tried to drop off toys today but the corner door which said, “Drop toys off here” was locked… I’m assuming it wouldn’t be too late to bring them with me tomorrow evening?

Jana Bacon on 12/07/2017

I am so sorry I missed you yesterday Anna.  I usually keep the doors locked when I am in the office alone and you must have come by when I stepped out into another part of the building.  To answer your question, yes, you can bring your donation this evening.  Thank you so much for your help!

Check this out! We are ready for the Toy Store & Christmas Party. Join HITC tonight from 5-7pm to bless the neighbors of our community: serve  kids, gift wrap presents, participate in caroling in and outside of the church. A meal will also be provided. See you soon!

We’re bringing 3 more toys. Infant toys.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who donated or helped out with the toy drive and toy store last Thursday night. What an amazing time blessing families and singing carols as a community. I think it was a great success!

To share a quick quote from one of the moms. She said “We some times get free stuff from people. It comes with living in government housing. That never feels good. Being able to buy things I couldn’t afford is a real blessing.”

Her daughter loves Shopkins and one of the tenants donated a Shopkins Bicycle!!! What a win for everyone! Way to go everybody!!!!!
